Grant Applications
The Visitors Bureau disperses funds generated from Dixon County lodging taxes. Grant applications are evaluated quarterly (March, June, September, December). Applicants may be individuals, organizations, municipalities, non-profits or boards applying for grants independently or cooperatively.

How to Apply
The Visitors Bureau provides three methods to submit your grant application:
Method 1: Electronically
To submit your application electronically:
- Complete the application online.
- Review your information.
- Send the completed application via the website.
- Optionally, print a copy for your records.
- Optionally, send any additional materials via postal mail.
Method 2: Postal Mail
To fill-out your application online, but submit via postal mail:
- Complete the application online.
- Review your information.
- Print the completed application.
- Optionally, include any additional materials.
- Send the completed application via postal mail.
Method 3: Download Application

Applications should be made with the intent to promote tourism within the county and assisting activities in bringing tourists and money into the county. Grants will be awarded for advertising, marketing, and promotional activities.
Eligible activities include but are not limited to the following: printing pamphlets, posters, billboards, web site development, travel/trade show expenses, mass media advertising – magazines, newspaper, radio, television, video etc.

For your convenience the board has developed the following process time-line:
- Request a grant application from a Dixon County CVB Board member or use one of the methods to the right.
- A minimum of 90 days prior to the event complete and return the application form which contains:
- A description of the event.
- Your promotional plan.
- Total project costs and other funding sources.
- Submit grant applications by the first of the appropriate month.
- Dixon County CVB will meet mid-month (quarterly) to evaluate applications.
- Receive response from board indicating approval and amount of funding or denial.
- All grant recipients must use an appropriate credit line (Event funded in part by a grant from the Dixon County Convention and Visitors Bureau) on all printed material, radio ads, television commercials, or any other forms of advertisement.
- If funds are granted, no more than 60 days following the event, return the final report form which includes:
- Brief event description.
- How grant funds were used.
- Dixon County tourism promotion specifics.
- Receipts of event financials documenting how grant funds were utilized.
After reception of the final report, and following the approval of the Visitors Bureau Board, the county will disperse grant funds to the applicant contact person.
