Buckskin Hills Wildlife Management & Recreation Area
Featuring a 75-acre lake with bluegill, channel catfish, largemouth bass and walleye. Motorboats limited to 5 mph. Primitive camping allowed.
Powder Creek Recreation Area
A great location for boating, fishing and picnics.
Nebraska Outlaw Trail
Highway 12 National Scenic Byway offers breathtaking and diverse Nebraska landscapes. Follow the route taken by outlaws like Jesse James.

Along the wooded hills and bluffs of the Missouri River, Ponca State Park offers a variety of recreational activities.

Museums
Adam's House Museum
Built in 1882 and restored to its appearance in the early 1900's. Featuring several restored rooms on two floors, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Dixon County Historical Society Museum
With exhibits spanning 150 years, a fascinating trip into the history of Dixon County.

Cook's Blacksmith Shop Museum
A restored and working blacksmith's shop, with the original tools and machinery. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and operated by the Ponca Historical Society.
Historic Chicago & Northwestern Depot Museum
Formerly the town railroad depot, this museum is operated by the Wakefield Heritage Organization.

Ponca Park Pool
Generally open the second Saturday of June, weekends only from the mid August through Labor Day.
Golf Courses
Highland Oaks Public Golf Course
On the southern boundary of Ponca State Park, a challenging 9-hole course with a spectacular view. Clubhouse has a rental room for small family and business functions.
Logan Valley Golf Course
A 9-hole, regulation course located 1/2 mile east of Wakefield.
Cedar View Country Club
A challenging 9-hole course just west of Dixon County in nearby Laurel.
